Nana Sander (ნანა სანდერი) is a Georgian activist who is currently serving a seven-year prison sentence.

She was arrested in connection with the events of October 4, 2025, and accused by Georgian authorities of involvement in organizing group violence and actions allegedly aimed at overthrowing the constitutional order.

Sander rejected the accusations and stated that she was innocent. She argued that there was no evidence proving that she had used violence or participated in actions aimed at destabilizing the country. Her supporters consider her a political prisoner and view her case as part of a broader pressure on opposition voices, civil activists, and pro-European movements in Georgia.

The Georgian authorities and the court system, however, maintain that the case is based on criminal charges and does not represent political persecution.

Before returning to Georgia, Nana Sander spent around 16 years living in Germany, including in Stuttgart. According to her own statements, she decided to return because she felt that Georgia was facing a critical political situation and that she wanted to take responsibility rather than remain abroad. She describes her activism as a commitment to freedom, democracy, and Georgia’s European future.

After her return, Sander became involved in civic and political activism. Her arrest and conviction have made her a prominent figure among many supporters of Georgia’s pro-European movement
