Georgian Street Art Federation
Founded in 2016 by architect and artist Vasil Shuradze together with Giorgi Managadze and Tornike Gvelashiani, the Georgian Street Art Federation (საქართველოს ქუჩის ხელოვნების ფედერაცია, GSAF) is the longest-established street art organization in Georgia.
GSAF has promoted and developed street art in Georgia by supporting local artists, positioning Georgia as an international destination for street art and graffiti, and raising public awareness of the cultural and social value of urban art.
As architects, we consider street art a means of urban design.
Where traditional planning lacks flexibility, street art enters the stage.
Vasil Shuradze
Over the years, GSAF has organized numerous projects and events, including several international street art festivals in Tbilisi, Kakheti, and Mestia.
One of the organization's most impactful projects was the redevelopment of the pedestrian underpasses at Heroes Square in 2018. Previously dirty, poorly lit, and uninviting, the underpasses were cleaned, their lighting was improved, and street art transformed them into safer and more attractive public spaces, while providing young artists with a visible platform for their work.
GSAF has worked with Georgian artists such as Luka Japaridze, Jokonda, Vazha.ma, Davit Kvantaliani, Bard, and others, as well as international artists including Observ (Portugal), Bronik (Peru, Australia), Peter Skensved (Denmark), Name One (Denmark), Galigr One (France), and Feoflip (Canary Islands).
Since 2019, GSAF has developed several international partnerships, including collaborations with the Danish Institut for Urban Kunst (ifUK), Yasha Young Projects (Germany), Rethorica Studio (Portugal), and other European organizations.
Currently, GSAF organizes the international street art festivals Gamo-Khate in Mestia (June 2026) and Tbilisi (October 2026).
